Sustainable Business Advice
Social Enterprises are courageous initiatives aiming to tackle social and environmental issues by the use of a business model. They are neither a charity nor a purely commercial business. On top of the usual challenges of setting up, growing and running a successful organisation, social enterprises are encountering by their very nature a unique set of challenges in the arena of acquiring capital, their governance model, diversifying their business model, etc.
As a strong believer in business being a vehicle for good, we are dedicated to supporting new ways of doing business that are future-proof. Since 2008 we have been engaged in innovative, sustainable initiatives in a variety of roles ranging from business development of social start-ups to running the membership program of the Dutch national body of social enterprises.
Being schooled in developing the effectiveness of organisations at a management consultancy firm, as well as being exposed to innovative models such as Holacracy and frameworks as the Adizes’ Lifecycle, our support often involves the transition to a next organisational maturity level.

Programme Management
Our approach seems to be one that is based on:
- co-creation, with a strong orchestrator lead,
- honouring of due process, with a firm commitment to tangible results,
- building bridges between different ‘worlds’ (start-up/big business, business/social sector etc).
We’ve run large multi-stakeholder initiatives in the Dutch second hand shop industry and currently are helping Exeter’s Social Enterprise Network ESSENCE on its journey to find a sustainable business model. Usually, we end up strengthening the organisation financially, while fully honouring its social and environmental heart.

Group Facilitation
Trained in an artform called Circling, we are able to address what is happening on an emotional level both in a group and in individuals. This ability, combined with innovative group facilitation techniques from the Art of Hosting community (World Café, Open Space, Appreciate Inquiry), make our group facilitation approach effective in engaging all team members in the process. This way more available perspectives in the organisation get gathered and integrated. Teams get activated.
Tailormade group processes or (a series of) workshops are designed and facilitated. In the past new ways of being in business have been supported through innovation support, embedding peer-to-peer support structures, culture change and team learning sessions.

Personal Leadership
We are using the relationship between coach and coachee as fuel for growth: what is happening in the very moment between you and I as the microcosmos that is happening in your life, all the time.
Our sessions seem to be centred around the introduction of effective language, cultivating curiosity and present-moment awareness. Bringing attention to the connection with ourselves, the other and what is in-between us.
Sometimes our 1-on-1 support is part of group processes we facilitate, sometimes these 1-on-1 sessions are a stand-alone trajectory. Be prepared to get your hiking boots on, the majority of our sessions are held in nature.
